Just because she's adorable

My lovely girl

Word of the week

'Rambunctious'

.. ..........Uncontrollably exuberant; boisterous.

Love this word, I can imagine Steven Fry saying it with a rrrrolling 'r' or equally a yoof with a 'sarf London' accent.

Welsh Wanderings...

Self catering holidays are definately lovely, but there is a lot of work to be done either side isn't there?  Not so much the washing, but more the unpacking of random things which got stuffed in the car any which way 'cause you just want to get home'. Think babybel stuffed in a small ugg boot and you kind of have the idea..........
I still haven't located my phone charger, but have come home with the camera charger which we left at the cottage last time we went in May - So a fair swap i think.

Anyway, here are a few little highlights of our Welsh holiday.......

Obligatory viewing of Welsh steam train. Willow cried the sort of cry you would expect from a 1 year old when a noisy train passes and then unexpectedly toots it's tooter - horn? er what is it called ?!

A rare opportunity to play in an old phone box. Which i think was more for my benefit than anyone else's really.

Picnic with friends, We managed to turn up without the vast majority of the things we needed, but still had fun and made do. Some of my fondest memories as a child involved going on picnics and having to cut cheese and bread with anything i could lay my hands on, and fully intend to carry on the tradition.

Then there was lots of lovely Autumnal light....

I am still recovering from the coastal walk where I took this picture. But with scenery like this, it's hard to stay inside with your feet up. The dreaded chronic fatigue still likes to come on holiday with me, but looking at these pictures make the forced days in bed seem a bit more worth it.

And Dad, this one is just for you......

We ended our jaunt with a bit of time with my family, these are two of my three siblings, who are indisputably the best anyone could ask for. They are as lovely as they look in this picture. The sort that just turn up at your holiday cottage, do yesterdays washing up, cook you a delicious roast, wash up again and then help you pack up and clean up after a weekend of mess they didn't create. They are a little barmy tho, there is no denying that. But that is why I love them.

So until next time Wales, i bid you farewell.

Excitement !

Like a small child before christmas, i feel excited about our little holiday as it approaches.
Warm socks are packed, chocolate, wine and settlers at the ready for when the babes are tucked up in bed, and the great Welsh mountains to look at to clear the mind.
In the absence of energy to walk up hills, looking is as far as it goes for me.
One day i will climb snowdon again, but for now, looking and being will suit me just fine.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Turns out a Juliet balcony can have it's uses for entertaining a small child........

2. Peppa Pig has been through the washing machine, (contrary to label guidelines) and has survived, although no longer has the rosy cheeks she once did.

3. I was reading some statistics today about poverty, sanitation, education etc and as ever was shocked to my core by the stark reality that I am in the complete minority when i turn on a tap, flush a loo, go to the Doctor or buy all the food I need from a supermaket. The world we humans have constructed is insanely unfair.

4. Next week we head for snowdonia and the Llynn peninsula, can't wait. Not only do I get to see some of my favourite hills and seaside, but I get to to be there with nearly all my favourite people. ( of course there are a few of you not there !)

5. There is more Vitamin C in broccoli than an orange..........maybe we should all sit around at Christmas and munch on a stem or two instead ? And there'd be no peal to leave on the arm of the sofa.

6. Tried finger painting with Willow today, she wasn't interested........slightly gutted, but happy not to have to clear up the mess.

7. I am sick of hearing about that Adam Werrity fella and his pal Dr Fox. Yes he overstepped the mark, do i want to hear about it anymore, no thanks.

8.  This '10 on tuesday' idea was stolen from a die hard blogger, it wasn't my own idea, so thanks Sarah :) you are a blogging legend.........
When they are all published and win a booker prize, I shall mention you in the credits I promise.

9. At this time of year I miss knocking on kids doors and inviting them the kids klub at our church. Many years ago i spent hours and hours doing it each week, and 6 years on I still miss it.

10. Did you know that if you put a laptop charger in your mouth while it's plugged into the mains, you get an electric shock..... who knew ?

Word of the week

I think it might be the 'wanna be teacher' in me, but i just fancied a word of the week, so instead of printing it out, double mounting it and putting it on a display board, i'm posting it here :)

-"Pandemonium"
Definition-Pandemonium- 1. a place of anarchy. 2. wild confusion, commotion, chaos.

The last 3 on the definition list are how i would describe our living room right now.
It's a dramatic word, i quite like dramatic words, and my other half would tell you i use them far too often.............

Vomit on Sunday

Last night there was vomit in our house, just a little bit but boy does that oh so nasty smell know how to linger.......

Sunday, i love Sundays, a time in my week when i attempt to stop and remember my creator and all He is and has done. Today I am thanking Him for the health of my child, a little bit of vomit aside, she is one healthy happy girl, and for that I will always be thankful.

A year has passed.

This is my little lady this time last year, and now she's standing up in her cot shouting 'Daddy' while she's meant to be asleep. How the time flies ey......
